Matthew Roth on the Wikimedia Tech Blog:
Once activated, you can compile articles or complete categories into a personal collection and export them. Collections can be exported in a variety of formats like PDF, EPUB, or OpenOffice. You can also order a printed book via PediaPress, the official print-on-demand partner of Wikipedia.
While I'm not naive enough to completely trust the content, and I certainly question some of their editorial policies, Wikipedia is a decent enough starting point when you're researching something. And sure it may seem silly to "freeze" a moving target like a Wikipedia article, but that didn't stop me from creating a 600+ page ePub containing every article in the 18th century philosophers category in about five minutes on my iPad1.

It didn't work in Chrome, I had to use Safari to get the file to actually download. ↩
